For my major study in my Masters, I chose to write, design and print an updated road rules book for Nepal. The traffic in Nepal, especially Kathmandu, is very dangerous. Very few people obey even the basic of laws, and one problem is a lack of understanding of what the rules actually are. The old book is misleadingly titled a "guide" book, and many think that this means the rules within are just suggestions. I felt it was time that something is done to tackle the problems, especially with the roads themselves improving under a valley-wide expansion plan.
The video explains how I researched the project, and the steps I took to complete the books.
The finished artefacts looked superb, and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. I was able to show these briefly to some of the people who have been leading the charge for changing the rules. They were also impressed with them, and we all wish to see these used extensively in Nepal. This is a justification for the whole project, and we are all hopeful that in some small way, this book can be of value in Nepal and help to improve the roads and save lives.
